On January 4, Ambassador to Egypt Kairat Lama Sharif discussed in Cairo with Hossam Heiba, the President of the General Authority for Investments and Free Economic Zones of Egypt (GAFI), the prospects for bilateral trade development, QazMonitor reports citing the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The meeting also covered the progress of implementing the Memorandum of Understanding signed by Kazakh Invest and GAFI on February 7, 2021.
During the conversation, the Kazakh diplomat extended an invitation to the Egyptian side to participate in the Astana International Forum scheduled for June 13–14 this year. Heiba expressed his willingness to facilitate the invitation of major Egyptian companies to the forum.
GAFI is a state government organization dedicated to attracting foreign direct investment to Egypt. It actively promotes both foreign and domestic investment, aiming to provide simplified, standardized, and improved services within a business-friendly environment and investment policy.
