The Head of State signed the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan "On introducing amendments and additions to some legislative acts of the Republic of Kazakhstan on issues of information security, informatization, and digital assets," QazMonitor reports citing the press service of the President.

The document restricts the collection and processing of copies of identity documents, except in certain situations. For example, this includes the inability to use information systems of state bodies and legal entities, technological obstacles to identify the person and other cases established by law.

Additionally, immigrants will be obligated to provide copies of their identity documents to protect national interests and ensure the security of the country.
