Cyprus plans to open an embassy in Astana in 2024, QazMonitor reports citing the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
On December 9, in Abu Dhabi, the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan and Cyprus, Murat Nurtleu and Constantinos Kombos, exchanged views on issues of the international agenda, bilateral relations, and the potential to strengthen trade-economic and investment interactions.
The ministers noted an unrealized potential for cooperation in transport, logistics, and tourism. The parties agreed to consider establishing direct air service between the two countries.
Following the meeting, the interlocutors confirmed the willingness to continue the dialogue on the issues of Kazakh-Cypriot cooperation during the planned visit of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cyprus to Kazakhstan next year.
