During a recent visit to the Turkistan region, Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Alikhan Smailov, signed an agreement with Terminals Holding, an investor based in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). This partnership is set to transform Astana's Airport into a thriving multimodal hub, QazMonitor reports citing primeminister.kz.
Terminals Holding will conduct a comprehensive assessment of Astana’s airport operations and subsequently take over the operational management to enhance passenger services and airport efficiency.
The investor's primary task is to prepare the runway for reconstruction and modernization. Given the preparatory work and the short construction season in Astana, the reconstruction of the ground infrastructure is planned to commence next year.
This partnership will be supported by a comprehensive, long-term business development plan for the airport, designed to balance state and private company interests. This plan will serve as the foundation for future investments.
The Ministry of Transport emphasized that this strategic collaboration with Terminals Holding will play a pivotal role in the transformation of Kazakhstan's airports into multimodal centers.
Terminals Holding is a rapidly growing aviation enterprise serving clients in promising markets in Asia and Africa. It is closely affiliated with the major port and industrial company, Abu Dhabi Ports.
