Several Kazakh players have improved their standings in the world tennis rankings, QazMonitor reports.
According to the recent changes in the WTA rankings, Aruzhan Sagandykova, who recently graduated from junior tennis, climbed 76 positions last week and now ranks 746th. Over the past month, she has managed to rise by 310 positions from 1,056th place.
Furthermore, Kazakhstan’s No. 2, Yulia Putintseva, rose from 81st place to 73rd, while Zhanel Rustemova climbed 8 positions to 1,381st place. World No. 5, Elena Rybakina, remained in 5th place.
The domestic men’s tennis scene also saw a shake-up, as two players improved their positions in the ATP rankings.
In singles, Grigoriy Lomakin rose by 29 positions and now ranks 782nd. Meanwhile, in doubles, Timur Maulenov soared by 140 positions and rose to 1,678th place.
