To prevent the ‘grey import’ of wheat, the order of the Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan from September 26, 2023 extended the ban on wheat imports by motor transport to the territory of Kazakhstan, QazMonitor reports citing the press service of the Ministry.

According to the order, the ban period is from October 11 this year for a period of 6 months.

In addition, starting September 26, 2023, wheat imports by railway are banned for six months, except for imports of grain intended for licensed elevators, as well as grain processing and poultry enterprises.

The list of licensed elevators is posted on the website. The list of grain processing and poultry enterprises is formed and updated by the National Chamber of Entrepreneurs Atameken.

The restrictions imposed on imports by rail do not apply to transit transportation through the territory of Kazakhstan.
