From 2020 to 2022, the tourism industry saw an increase in investments and brought $4 billion to Kazakhstan's economy, QazMonitor reports citing the Ministry of Tourism and Sports.
Last year alone, the volume of investment reached 513.3 billion tenge. Over 400 tourist facilities were built during the period.
"The government is actively attracting private capital for the development of domestic tourism. Since last year, state support measures have covered projects for the construction of tourism facilities, the development of ski resorts, and the purchase of tourist buses. Subsidies are also provided to tour operators for attracting foreign tourists. In addition, flight tickets for children are subsidized for Kazakh citizens travelling within the country,” said Vice Minister of Tourism and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan Yerzhan Yerkinbayev.
The Vice Minister added that the government also puts emphasis on attracting foreign investors by offering incentives.
