On September 20, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev discussed the prospects of further development of the strategic partnership between the two countries with the President of South Korea Yoon Suk Yeol, reports the press service of Akorda.
Tokayev noted that the countries have fostered friendly relations, with the dynamic development of economic ties being of particular importance.
The President of Kazakhstan emphasized that the bilateral trade turnover is showing steady growth, exceeding $6 billion last year. At the same time, the total investment of Korean companies in the economy of Kazakhstan exceeded $8 billion, ensuring a firm position among the top 10 major investors in our country.
Today, more than 700 Korean companies and joint ventures operate in Kazakhstan. The active presence of such companies as KIA, Hyundai, Samsung, LG, and others in the market of Kazakhstan is an example of this.
During the meeting, President Tokayev outlined promising areas of economic cooperation in the fields of engineering, rare metals mining, and nuclear power.
