Lufthansa will open a representative office in Almaty on October 1. The announcement was made at the meeting of the chairman of the Committee of Civil Aviation of Kazakhstan Talgat Lastayev and the general manager for Central Asia Lufthansa Group Bernhard Wodl, QazMonitor reports citing the Committee’s press service.
The representative office will handle the company's activities throughout Central Asia.
The parties also discussed issues of further cooperation, including the possibility of utilizing the Fifth Freedom of Air in the airports of Kazakhstan, expanding the cooperation in cargo transportation, and Lufthansa flights in the fall-winter period of 2023-2024 between Kazakhstan and Germany.
The representative of Lufthansa Group thanked the Kazakh side for the support in implementing Lufthansa’s flights between Kazakhstan and Germany.
The parties agreed to continue work on further expansion of cooperation.
