Kazakhstan is working on the establishment of branches of leading Turkish universities in the country, QazMonitor reports citing Kazinform.

On September 11, ministers of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan and Turkiye Murat Nurtleu and Hakan Fidan met in Astana. The ministers discussed strengthening cultural and humanitarian ties, as well as organizing various events in both countries to celebrate their shared history.

Nurtleu further noted the increasing number of Kazakh students choosing Turkiye as their academic destination.

"Currently, we are actively exploring the possibility of opening branches of leading Turkish universities in Kazakhstan. The number of students studying in Turkiye has risen from 2,900 to 8,200 over the past three years," added Nurtleu.
