Cargo Volume Through Aktau and Kuryk Ports Grows 12% in 2023

Industry Ministry plans the first grain shipment from Kuryk port's new terminal this September

In the first eight months of 2023, cargo transportation in the Caspian Sea through the seaports of Aktau and Kuryk increased by 12%, QazMonitor reports citing the Ministry of Industry and Infrastructural Development.

Overall, the volume of cargo transported along the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route saw an increase of 80%, with the greatest growth reported in oil transshipments – up by 53%. Furthermore, the growth of ferry transportation rose by 12%.

Additionally, the industry ministry plans to send the first batch of grain from a new grain terminal at the port of Kuryk this September. The terminal was constructed by the domestic company Semurg Invest with the participation of the Emirati developer Abu Dhabi Ports Group.
