Representatives from the energy and water agencies of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan convened in Astana on August 25-26 to address water and energy cooperation matters, QazMonitor reports citing the press service of the Ministry of Energy of Kazakhstan.

During the meeting, discussions centered around the supply of electric energy for the upcoming fall-winter season.

"A series of mutual agreements were reached, specifying volumes and terms of supply. Additionally, the parties committed to exploring the feasibility of implementing an hourly metering mechanism for electricity, establishing contracts to manage unforeseen energy overflows between economic entities, and reviewing existing terms within contracts related to the resolution of unexpected energy overflows," the message stated.

All participants reiterated their dedication to fulfilling previously undertaken obligations. The following gathering of water and energy agency representatives is scheduled for November 2023 in Bishkek.
