The President of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon, will make a working visit to Astana on August 25-26 at the invitation of Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, QazMonitor reports citing the press service of Akorda.
The visit will encompass high-level discussions on trade, economic, transportation, logistics, and investment cooperation. The leaders of both countries will also participate in the opening ceremony of the Tajikistan Culture Days in Kazakhstan and visit the exhibition of Tajikistan's agricultural products.
In July 2023, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev met with President Emomali Rahmon of Tajikistan on the sidelines of the Central Asia + Gulf Cooperation Council Summit. The leaders of the two nations reviewed the progress of the agreements made during Emomali Rahmon's state visit to Astana in May of this year. The presidents discussed further expansion of trade and economic interactions, as well as the reinforcement of cultural and humanitarian cooperation.
It was previously reported that Tajikistan intends to broaden its export opportunities in Kazakhstan, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, and Russia through the establishment of trade houses. These tradehouses will showcase samples of products from local enterprises.
