The body of the third miner has been found at the Kazakhstanskaya mine of ArcelorMittal Temirtau. The search for two more people continues, as reported by QazMonitor, citing the company's press service.
At 10:05 a.m. on August 17, a conveyor belt caught fire at the mine. In response, an accident elimination plan was immediately implemented, and the evacuation of workers to the surface was organized. At the time of the incident, there were 227 people in the mine. By 13:50, 222 miners had already been brought to the surface. However, due to heavy smoke in the mine, five miners remained trapped. At 17:20, the body of one miner was recovered. On August 18 at 08:10, the body of the second missing miner was also located.
President Kasym-Jomart Tokayev has issued several directives in response to the mine accident in the Karaganda region.
