Rescuers have found the bodies of all five missing miners at the Kazakhstanskaya coal mine of ArcelorMittal Temirtau, QazMonitor reports citing the company’s press service.

As of August 20, the company has confirmed the recovery of the bodies of Denis Gennadiyevich Steshin, Khalikov Artur Rinatovich, Victor Sergeyevich Burgun, Vitaliy Vladimirovich Slyunkov, and Starovoit Iliya Alexandrovich.

On August 17 at 10:05 a.m., a fire broke out at the Kazakhstanskaya coal mine, leading to the evacuation of the staff working on-site. By 2:00 p.m., the operating company reported the successful evacuation of 222 out of 227 miners, with five individuals remaining trapped due to heavy smoke in the mine.

Currently, the authorities have launched a criminal investigation into the causes of the accident.
