The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has officially invited the National Olympic Committee of Kazakhstan to participate in the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, QazMonitor reports citing the Committee's press service.
To mark this invitation, a celebratory event was held in Paris on July 26, with the participation of IOC President Thomas Bach and President of the Organising Committee for the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games, Tony Estanguet.
This year, the IOC sent out invitations to 203 of 206 national Olympic committees. However, the official invitation was not sent to the representatives of Russia and Belarus, as well as Guatemala, whose recognition has been temporarily suspended since 2022.
The 2024 Summer Olympics will take place in the French capital, Paris, from July 26 to August 11.
