Kazakh boxer Beibut Shumenov has been declared wanted, QazMonitor reports citing the portal of legal statistics bodies and special records.
The announcement was published on July 22, stating that the wanted case is registered in the “Astana” region, with the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan being the initiator.
The 39-year-old boxer is facing charges of assaulting a man who was holding a child in his arms. The incident took place in a shopping and entertainment center in the capital.
"On June 18 of the current year, there was a breach of public order in one of the cafes at the shopping and entertainment center MEGA SILK WAY in Astana, where one of the visitors assaulted another. A pre-trial investigation has been launched under Article 293 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan (Hooliganism), which carries a potential sentence of up to 5 years of imprisonment. The Internal Affairs bodies are currently conducting all necessary investigative and operational activities, and the results will be given a legal assessment," as previously reported by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
