Kazakhstan’s national karate team topped the overall standings at the 2023 AKF Senior Championships in Melaka, QazMonitor reports citing the sport and physical education committee.
The 19th edition of the Asian Karate Federation Senior Championships took place in the Malaysian city of Melaka from July 21st to 23rd and attracted over 400 martial artists from 31 countries across the continent. The national team of Kazakhstan comprised 19 karatekas.
With a remarkable performance, the Kazakh team secured eleven medals in total, including three gold, four silver, and four bronze medals, surpassing Japan and Iran, who earned eight and twelve medals, respectively.
