The government of Kazakhstan discussed the issues of development of the Kashagan oil and gas field with Olivier Lazare, the managing director of the North Caspian Operating Company (NCOC), and the project's consortium companies, QazMonitor reports citing primeminister.kz.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the issues of compliance with the national environmental legislation, ensuring the stability of the existing production sites, implementation of projects for the future expansion of the Kashagan field. The meeting also addressed measures to increase the level of production, and the implementation of new investment projects such as the construction of gas processing plants.
Prime Minister Alikhan Smailov emphasized that over the years of joint work, the consortium companies are well-established effective partners involved in solving many economic and social challenges.
"The government pays particular attention to the stable operation and further development of the Kashagan field. It is a strategic asset, hence we place importance on the timely implementation of projects to expand the Kashagan further," added Smailov.
