Kazakhstan continues to work on developing tourism infrastructure, with design estimate documentation prepared for 83 current projects, QazMonitor reports citing the press service of the Ministry of Culture and Sports.
The Ministry also reported on the projects covering nature protection areas, such as constructing and reconstructing roads in the Imantau-Shalkar resort zone and medium repairs of the 15 km long access road to Zhasybay Lake. The projects that address the increasing popularity of beach recreation are shore protection works on the coast of Lake Alakol in the Abay region and the improvement of the Bertys Bay embankment in Balkhash. The implementation of these projects will commence soon once the appropriate funding is available.
"The ongoing works are designed to increase the country's investment attractiveness and improve our tourism infrastructure. To solve the existing problems of infrastructure development outside settlements and on the territory of national parks, akimats are to be granted the relevant authority," said Vice Minister of Culture and Sports Yerzhan Yerkinbaev.
In 2022, 28 projects were implemented, including the construction of engineering communications in the Balkhash resort area, the construction of a road to the beach in Aktau, and the launch of Usharal and Urjar airports, which allowed to expand the air transportation infrastructure of the country.
