Kazakhstan and Sri Lanka Consider Resuming Direct Flights

The tourism committee discussed the bilateral tourism potential with ambassadors of Sri Lanka and the Philippines

Yerzhan Yerkinbayev, the vice minister of culture and sport, discussed with the ambassadors of Sri Lanka and the Philippines, Janitha Liyanage and Igor Bailen, the issues of cooperation in the field of tourism, sports, and culture, QazMonitor reports citing the tourism industry committee.

During the meeting with Ambassador Liyanage, the parties agreed to promote joint tourist routes and establish experience exchange between Kazakhstan and Sri Lanka. The diplomat also emphasized the importance of resuming direct flights between the two countries to bolster the bilateral tourism potential.

In turn, Ambassador Bailen expressed interest in organizing a visit to Kazakhstan by former professional boxer Manny 'PacMan' Pacquiao, who holds twelve major world titles. He also expressed a desire to explore Kazakhstan's tourism potential by visiting all regions, particularly Almaty, in the near future.
