Prices for fast food products in Kazakhstan have seen a significant rise of 16% over the course of a year, QazMonitor reports citing the bureau of national statistics.
According to the bureau, in April alone, the cost of fast food services experienced a month-on-month increase of 0.4% and a substantial year-on-year increase of 15.9%. Among the regions, the North Kazakhstan region saw the highest monthly price growth of 5.7%, followed by the Zhambyl region with a 4% increase, and the Zhetysu region with a 2.2% increase.
The report states that the most substantial annual price hikes are seen in the West Kazakhstan region – 47.2%, closely followed by the North Kazakhstan region with a rise of 44.4%. The city of Shymkent saw an increase of 37.9%, while Atyrau and the Zhambyl region saw price increases of 33.8% and 33.7% respectively.
The regions of Turkistan and Kyzylorda recorded the lowest annual price growth, standing at 6.4% and 6.3% respectively.
