Kazakhstan’s epee fencing team won the team gold at the Istanbul Men’s Epee World Cup in Turkiye, QazMonitor reports citing the International Fencing Federation.
Istanbul's stage of the World Cup attracted over 348 individual fencers and 45 teams participating in the competition. Kazakhstan was represented by Elmir Alimzhanov, Ruslan Kurbanov, Vadim Sharlaimov, and Yerlik Sertay.
To advance past the semi-finals, our team had to beat Spain 45:32, and then compete against the Netherlands in the final match, winning with a score of 34:20. The bronze medal went to the Korean team.
