On April 13-14, a delegation of Kazakh business circles and government officials paid an official visit to Seoul and signed cooperation agreements with several South Korean companies, QazMonitor reports citing the PM’s press service.
The meetings were attended by executives of leading Korean companies and institutions such as Samsung, KIA, SK, Doosan, Korea Institute of Geoscience and Mineral Resources, GL Rapha, Youngsan, Dongil Electronics, MOTREX, SsangYong Motor Company, Hi Air Korea, and others.
Most discussions were devoted to the issues of current and promising joint projects in mechanical engineering, pharmaceuticals, mining, energy, and construction. In particular, Roman Sklyar, the first deputy prime minister, discussed the prospects for attracting Korean investment in Kazakhstan with the minister of trade, industry and energy of South Korea Lee Chang-yang.
During the meetings, the following agreements were signed:
– on localizing the production of car components between Youngsan Corporation and Vehicles Almaty
– on the joint production of multimedia devices between MOTREX and Car Wagon Wheels
– on joint development of the car industry as well as training of the automotive engineers in Kazakhstan, between our government and Kia Corporation
