Kazakh Athlete Remains in Top 5 World’s Strongest Female Judokas Rankings

The International Judo Federation published updated world rankings

Kazakh judokas improved their position in the International Judo Federation’s (IJF) ranking following the Antalya Grand Slam 2023, QazMonitor reports.

Nurkanat Serikbayev (under 60 kg) earned 500 points for winning the bronze medal, moving him 15 positions up in the world rankings and taking 36th place. Magzhan Shamshadin (under 60 kg) and Daniyar Shamshayev (under 73 kg) ranked 15th in their respective weight classes.

According to updated data, Abiba Abuzhakynova ranks fifth in IJF rankings of female judokas under 48 kg, moving one spot down in the rankings. Abuzhakynova ranks highest among the Kazakh national team.

The following athletes ranked among the top 50 in the world rankings.

Women’s team:

Under 48 kg:

  • Abiba Abuzhakynova – 5th place (4183)

  • Galiya Tynbayeva – 39th place (1236)

Under 57 kg: 

  • Sevara Nyshanbayeva – 33rd place (1317)

Under 78 kg:

  • Aruna Zhangeldina – 32nd place (1120)

Over 78 kg:

  • Kamila Berlikash – 19th place (2544)

  • Nazgul Maratova – 39th place (831)

Men’s team:

Under 60 kg:

  • Magzhan Shamshadin – 15th place (2773)

  • Yeldos Smetov – 23rd place (1929)

  • Bauyrzhan Narbayev – 34th place (1438)

  • Nurkanat Serikbayev – 36th place (1322)

  • Sherzod Davlatov – 49th place (855)

Under 66 kg:

  • Gusman Kyrgyzbayev – 24th place (2010)

  • Yesset Kuanov – 42nd place (1114)

Under 73 kg:

  • Daniyar Shamshayev – 15th place (2746)

  • Zhansay Smagulov – 21st place (2060)

Under 81 kg:

  • Abylaikhan Zhubanazar – 22nd place (2105)

Under 90 kg:

  • Didar Khamza – 24th place (1920)

Under 100 kg:

  • Nurlykhan Sharkhan – 24th place (2115)

Over 100 kg:

  • Adil Orazbayev – 41st place (1081)

  • Galymzhan Krikbay – 49th place (780)
