Two Kazakh projects received awards for outstanding achievements in the field of information and communication technologies at the World Summit on the Information Society Forum (WSIS) Forum 2023 in Geneva, QazMonitor reports.
The annual WSIS Forum is a global platform for promoting sustainable development, sharing information, identifying new trends, and strengthening partnerships in close cooperation with UN and ITU organizations.
Doreen Bogdan-Martin, secretary-general of the International Telecommunication Union, and Emilija Stojmenova Duh, digital transformation minister of Slovenia and chair of this year's forum, presented the Agroinsurance digital service with an award in the e-Agriculture category.
Launched in 2019 on the digital platform Qoldau.kz, the project is made possible by the digitization of all agricultural land in Kazakhstan on the platform. With this service, farmers can insure their fields against drought online.
Another project, the TechReg accreditation service, was recognized for its achievements in the e-Environment category. TechReg automates business processes technical regulation, state control, standardization, accreditation, conformity assessment, and ensures measurement uniformity.
