16-year-old table tennis star Alan Kurmangaliev became the winner of the WTT Youth Contender tournament in Vila Real, Portugal, QazMonitor reports.
The competition started on February 25 and ended March 3.
In the under-17 category, he defeated his opponents Francesc Carrera (Spain), Juan Ramirez (Colombia), Noah Vitel (France), Enrique Rios (Puerto Rico), Martin Sip (Czech Republic), Daniel Berzosa (Spain), and Dragos Bujor (Romania).
