Marat Karabayev, the minister of industry and infrastructure development, shared the budget allocated for the continuation of LRT construction in 2023, QazMonitor reports.
"This year, if I'm not mistaken, we allocate, as an operator, ₸50 billion to continue LRT construction. We have discussed the construction with the city akimat. First of all the work will begin on the airport side. And part of the funds will be used to advance the purchase of cars,” he said on the sidelines of a government meeting.
The minister noted that the funds were approved at a meeting of the national budget committee.
Now the project should go to the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, where the agreement is expected to be signed.
According to Karabayev, the money will be transferred to the Akimat in April.
Earlier, Astana mayor Zhenis Kasymbek stated that LRT will be completed by the end of 2024.
