Lithuania agreed to permit Kazakh freight trucks to pass through the borders after being stuck in Poland, QazMonitor reports.

On February 21, Poland introduced a ban on the passage of carriers of all countries except the European Union. About 400 Kazakh freight trucks were left stranded because of the law.

The Kazakh Ministry of Industry and Infrastructural Development said it negotiated with the Lithuanian Ministry of Transport to allow Kazakh truckers to depart.

Three days later, the Lithuanian Ministry of Transport and Communications reached an agreement with the Joint Commission on Road Transport on the issue of the passage of Kazakh cars in Poland through the territory of Lithuania as well as a quota of exchangeable forms of permits for 2023 to provide freight traffic.

Lithuania was given a list of Kazakh vehicles to ensure their unimpeded passage through the country.
