A restaurant chef created a one-and-a-half-meter high caramel sculpture as a love confession to Almaty on Valentine’s Day, QazMonitor reports.
According to the NAUTICA restaurant, the dessert attempted to break a record in Kazakhstan as the tallest caramel figure on February 14 in celebration of Valentine’s Day.
The culinary showpiece called “Almaty, I love you” was formed to emulate Almaty’s most iconic attraction, the Kok-Tobe tower. Two red and white hearts form the base with a transparent tower perched on top.
"This composition took several days. We used about 14 kilograms of sugar here," commented chef Pavel Stroganov.
The creator said the piece is “not only a declaration of love for the warmest, coziest and friendliest city but an endeavor to draw attention to the wonders of Almaty”.
