Volunteers in Kazakhstan are actively organizing the collection of humanitarian aid to help earthquake victims of Turkiye, QazMonitor reports.
According to the Ministry of Information and Public Development, collection points have been set up in every region of the country to receive and sort the necessary items.
Volunteers are keeping track of aid, sorting, and packaging all donated items. The humanitarian packages are transported to the embassy and consulate of Turkiye.
Entrepreneurs and social media influencers are using their platforms to raise funds.
As of February 13, 150 tons of humanitarian aid have been collected from the regions. About 32 million tenge was collected and transferred directly to the AFAD fund.
The National Volunteer Network and the Red Crescent Society of Kazakhstan have also set up donations that will be sent to their Turkish and Syrian counterparts.
Red Crescent Society announced on its Instagram page that as of Monday morning, February 13, it has collected over 93.1 million tenge ($206,011).
The first phase of relief work is complete, according to volunteers.
