The bodies of two citizens of Kazakhstan, Mirbolat Kurmashev and Adil Kadirbekov, were found under the debris of a collapsed building in Turkiye's Hatay Province, QazMonitor reports.

"Rescuers made a special manhole as quickly as possible to access the pre-set search location. The access was provided through small hollows. They tried to make fewer breaches in the barriers in order to prevent another collapse of structural elements, secured dangerous areas in the rubble, lifted and moved the parts of the rubble,” read the press report issued by the ministry of emergency situations.

On February 7, the general director of Astana Hub, Magzhan Madiev, said he lost contact with Mirbolat Kurmashev, who worked as an international agent at Astana Hub, after the earthquake in Hatay.

Along with Kurmashev, Adil Kadirbekov, Sabina Mamadyarova, and Kubilay Keskin, a Turkish citizen, were also reported missing. Mamadyarova was rescued shortly after, while Kadirbekov and Keskin’s bodies were found on Thursday, February 9.

The rescue team announced the discovery of Kurmashev’s body today through the RescueKZ Telegram channel.

Volunteers in Kazakhstan are preparing to send humanitarian aid to Turkiye. The support package includes food and clothing for children, diapers, blankets, and other necessary items.
