Kazakhstan Wins Second Gold at World University Games

Currently, Kazakh students occupy 6th place in the overall team standings

Ski jumper Danil Vassilyev captured Kazakhstan's second gold medal at the 2023 Winter World University Games in Lake Placid, QazMonitor reports citing the press service of the ministry of culture and sports.

Vasillyev became the best out of 22 athletes by earning 257.3 points on the small K-90 ski jump. Austria’s Maximilian Lienher (251.4) and Timon-Pascal Kahofer (248.8) placed second and third place respectively.

In addition to the gold medallist, Kazakhstan’s Sergey Tkachenko and Nikita Devyatkin entered the top 10 with 220.9 points in 7th place and 216.2 in 9th respectively.

Currently, Kazakh students occupy 6th place in the overall team standings ahead of Poland, Germany, and South Korea.
