Starting in early January 2023, China has removed previously imposed restrictive quarantine measures at the Kazakhstan-China section of the state border, QazMonitor reports citing the press service of the Ministry of Finance.
The PRC officials intend to admit vehicles with a return to the pre-pandemic format of transportation. At the same time, drivers are required to obtain visas, PCR tests, and ensure compliance of their vehicles with international standards.
"The removal of the requirements for the characteristics of vehicles, which were previously set by the Chinese side, has led to the dissatisfaction of a number of foreign trade participants, who bore certain reequipment costs during the strict requirements for vehicles. On January 9, 2023, in order to coordinate the work of stakeholders, the managing officials of the State Revenue Committee of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan visited Kalzhat checkpoint," the ministry reported.
During the working meeting, local executive bodies, carriers and the border service gave the necessary explanations on the customs procedures, as well as crossing the state border.
