A group of Majilis MPs has proposed a bill to support infrastructure development of eco-friendly transport, QazMonitor reports citing Informburo.

The new amendments will allow electric cars and hybrid vehicles with electric motors to drive on designated lanes. Parking for electric vehicles in paid lots will be free.

The authors of the bill also proposed creating charging stations for electric cars. The number of stations and their locations will be determined during the process of designing the roads.

The charging stations will be placed in residential areas, airports, train stations, shopping centers, markets, theaters, circuses, cinemas, and parks, as well as squares, avenues, streets, and neighborhoods.

In addition to free parking privileges, vehicles with electric motors will be able to charge in specially built parking spaces. They will also be allowed to park with the engine running in residential areas since the motors do not generate noise.

Drivers of these vehicles will be issued a green license plate, which will give them exclusive rights and access to use the facilities.
