The International Boxing Association (IBA) updated its country ranking, QazMonitor reports.
Kazakhstan is in the first place (48,100 points) out of 135 countries. Among the boxers ranked by IBA are Nurlan Saparbay, Saken Bibbosinov, Kamshybek Kunkabayev, Aibek Oralbay, Nurbek Oralbay, Serik Temirzhanov, Sagyndyk Togambay, Aslanbek Shymbergenov, and others.
Second place went to Uzbekistan (37,600) and third to India (36,300). The U.S. and Turkiye rounded out the top five.
The bottom three positions are occupied by North Macedonia (100 points), Sri Lanka (100), and Iceland (50).
Of the CIS countries, Ukraine is in 12th place, Armenia in 14th, Russia in 15th, and Kyrgyzstan in 38th.
The overall IBA ranking calculates points based on performances across all 17 weight categories. In October 2022, Kazakhstan was in third place, behind the U.S. and Brazil.
