Para skier Alexander Gerlitz was named the Best Athlete of 2022 in winter sports by the Ministry of Culture and Sports, QazMonitor reports citing Kazinform.
Alexandr Gerlitz is a bronze medalist of the 2022 Beijing Winter Paralympics in para biathlon and a champion of many national and international tournaments.
“I am thankful to the people of Kazakhstan, fans, and the Ministry of Culture and Sports. We will work harder to be able to raise the Kazakh flag at major competitions,” he said.
The coach of the national para skiing and biathlon team Anton Zhdanovich won in the nomination for Best Coach in Winter Sports.
