The Kazakh government is planning to develop the country’s IT sector by creating a digital platform for innovative projects, QazMonitor reports citing the prime minister's press service.
A meeting of the Council for Technological Policy was held today to discuss plans to increase technological activity in every Kazakh region.
Bagdat Mussin, Minister of Digital Development, Innovations, and Aerospace Industry, said the state needs to provide support for regional innovation sites and business incubators. This mostly applies to the rental of office spaces, training, and consulting services.
Prime Minister Alikhan Smailov supported the idea, adding that akimats should create conditions for the development of innovation and implement it as part of the regional economy.
The meeting also considered the implementation of the Single Window project. It concerns the launch of a digital platform akin to E-gov where measures of state support for thematic projects will be collected.
In addition, the system will allow participants of the industry to interact with each other via monitoring, ordering services, entering into contracts, and other activities.
Smailov approved the concept and instructed the launch of the pilot project in the summer of 2023.
"The entire private sector should have the opportunity to see the market, create demand for innovation, and make relevant orders on a single platform. On the other hand, innovators will have an effective mechanism to implement their ideas," said Alikhan Smailov.
