Astana’s newly appointed akim, Zhenis Kasymbek, said on the sidelines that the LRT is planned to be completed in the next 2-3 years, QazMonitor reports citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
"Everything depends on financing,” the akim explained. He also confirmed gasification will continue, saying the pace will not slow down.
He continued to tell reporters what problems he considers urgent at the moment.
"There are a lot of problems, and all of them are important. Issues of livelihoods. Readiness for the heating season. Issues of completing the construction of CHP-3. Gas stations are being built," said Kasymbek.
The akim promised to meet with journalists in the near future to discuss topical issues.
Earlier in June, the Astana akimat confirmed that the construction of the LRT would resume.
