Kazakhstan's trade turnover with the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) increased by 7% in January-October this year, QazMonitor reports citing Akorda's press service.

President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev arrived in Bishkek to participate in the meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council. The event was chaired by the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov.

In his speech, Tokayev noted that considering the strain on the global economy in the form of trade restrictions, quotas, and duties in the past year, the positive growth in trade turnover between EAEU members inspires optimism in Kazakhstan.

"Despite the pressure of external factors, Kazakhstan's trade turnover with the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union grew by more than 7% in January-October this year, amounting to $23 billion,” Tokayev said.

Other indicators of growth include the implementation of large-scale projects and the increased share of national currencies in the mutual settlements. “This positive dynamics illustrates the high level of interaction and the considerable potential of our integration partnership.”
