Kazakh Pair Advances to Semifinals at ITF World Tennis Tour in Egypt

Sagandikova and Rustemova claim surprising win over the Russian duo in the quarterfinals

Kazakhstan’s Aruzhan Sagandikova and Zhanel Rustemova advanced to the doubles semifinals of the ITF World Tennis Tour W15 tournament in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt, QazMonitor reports citing KTF.

In the quarterfinals, the Kazakh duo claimed victory over Elizaveta Mashnaia and Elizaveta Morozova. The Russian pair won the first set 6:3 and led 4:1 in the second game, but Rustemova and Sagandikova closed the gap and won the game 6:4. In the deciding super tie-breaker, the Kazakhs beat their opponents with 10:6.

The duo will go against Ecuadorian-British pair Camilla Romero and Alisha Reayer today.
