Kazakhstan Institute of Standardization and Metrology has signed its first international contract for the supply of standardized hardness measures to Belarus, QazMonitor reports citing the institution's press service.
Produced as rectangular or round plates of carbon or alloy steel, measures are designed in accordance with national standards, recommendations of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), and requirements of international metrology organizations.
Metallurgy, mechanical engineering, the aerospace industry, and construction are among many industries that require standardized measures since the accuracy of each measurement is directly dependent on the hardness value standard.
Domestically designed measures are modeled after national hardness measurement and calibration standards. According to the institution, Kazakhstan is among the few countries that possess national standardized measures of this type.
