A proving ground for vehicles will be built in Kazakhstan, QazMonitor reports citing the ministry of trade and integration.

A roundtable chaired by First Vice Minister of Trade and Integration Arman Shakkaliyev was organized in Almaty to discuss the conformity assessment of motor vehicles.

Representatives of accredited conformity assessment bodies and testing laboratories attended the meeting and identified several problem areas, including systematic inefficiencies and a lack of equipment for testing motor vehicles.

According to the first vice minister, they have identified the need to form a step-by-step development strategy that will involve all stakeholders in Kazakhstan’s automobile industry.

The roundtable concluded with the acceptance of all business proposals for further consideration.
