Kazakhstan became the last country to confirm its participation in the first edition of the United Cup, a new annual mixed teams event taking place across three major cities in Australia from December 29–January 8, 2023, QazMonitor reports citing the Kazakhstan Tennis Federation.
Sydney, Perth, and Brisbane will host the brand-new tournament that will be the first mixed-gender team event to offer both ATP rankings and WTA ranking points to its players.
Kazakhstan will compete in Group B against Switzerland and Poland.
Team Kazakhstan will be represented by Alexander Bublik, Timofey Skatov, Denis Yevseyev, Grigory Lomakin, Yulia Putintseva, Zhibek Kulambayeva, and Gozal Ainitdinova.
"On day one in Brisbane, Tokyo Olympic gold medallist and recently crowned Billie Jean King Cup winner Belinda Bencic of Switzerland will meet Kazakhstan’s Yulia Putintseva at Pat Rafter Arena," the tournament's press service reported.
