Passports of Kazakhstan citizens have been digitized. The Minister of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry Bagdat Mussin informed about it on his Telegram channel, QazMonitor reports.
"Today it is very convenient to use a digital document in your smartphone in the absence of the original. After the introduction and positive experience of using a digital ID card, we decided to digitize the passport as well. It is already available in the mobile application eGov Mobile," the minister wrote.
So far, the digital passport can be used for identification only in Kazakhstan, similar to the identity card. Such a need may arise in the case of loss or expiry of the identity card, Mussin explained.
