Seoul National University (SNU) plans to open the College of Engineering branch at the Korkyt Ara Kyzylorda University, QazMonitor reports citing the press service of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education.
SNU is regarded as one of the most prestigious universities in South Korea. According to the annual QS World University Rankings, in 2021 the university was ranked 37th in the world and 9th in Asia.
During the meeting at the Korkyt Ara Kyzylorda University, the chairman of the board Beibitkul Karimova shared with the Korean colleagues that the university currently cooperates with more than 170 foreign cultural and scientific centers.
In turn, the chairman of the special budget commission at SNU Woo Won-shik said that the joint between the scientific institutions would make a tangible contribution to the economic and digital development of the Kyzylorda region and to Kazakhstan as a whole.
