Following the victory of Kazakhstan’s national team at the FIRST Global Challenge robotics championship in Switzerland last month, the team coaches have received invites to train foreign teams for the next year’s championship, QazMonitor reports citing the press service of the Kazakh ministry of enlightenment.
Minister Askhat Aimagambetov met with the coaches of the national robotics team Asylbek Murzakhmetov and Nurdaulet Dosmagambet on Saturday to congratulate them on the team’s victory in October.
Murzakhmetov and Dosmagambet talked about the preparations for the championship’s final stage in Germany this month as well as the invitations they received from representatives of Indonesia, Montenegro, Iceland, Peru, and Lebanon to train their national teams for next year's championship.
Dosmagambet attributed this interest to the robust development of robotics in Kazakhstan. In recent years, the country has opened about three thousand robotics rooms at schools. The school curriculum has also included special courses for children.
"The fact that such proposals are coming in speaks volumes about our hard work and the high position Kazakhstan has in the field of robotics. Many schoolchildren in our country are passionate about this field," he said.
The coaches discussed the further development of robotics in Kazakhstan with the support of the Ministry of Education. Minister Aimagambetov supported the organization of a major international competition in robotics in 2023.
