Kazakhstan and UAE signed an agreement to strengthen bilateral cooperation during the Kazakh foreign minister’s official visit to Abu Dhabi on November 3, QazMonitor reports citing the press service of the Kazakh ministry of foreign affairs.
Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Mukhtar Tileuberdi arrived in UAE to participate in the 9th meeting of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation and the 5th round of Political Consultations.
During the talks with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the UAE Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the parties discussed prospects for further development of bilateral relations and exchanged views on topical international issues.
At the political consultations, Tleuberdi met with the Minister of Energy and Infrastructure of the UAE, Suhail Al Mazrouei. Together they reached an agreement on further building up effective partnerships in diverse fields of cooperation.
The two countries have also identified promising joint projects have been identified in the fields of education and science, agriculture, energy and renewable energy sources, mining and metallurgical complex, transport and logistics, construction, and more.
Foreign direct investment from the UAE to Kazakhstan totaled $128.7 million in the first six months of 2022, a twofold increase compared to the same period last year. The volume of trade turnover in January-August this year amounted to $550.1 million (exports – $514.6 million, imports – $35.5 million).
