Dubai-based film and TV production company ORYX has acquired distribution rights for historical films "The Diamond Sword" and "Golden Throne" directed by Rustem Abdrashov, QazMonitor reports.
The films will be screened in MENA countries - Algeria, Bahrain, Egypt, Palestine, Israel, Jordan, Iraq, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Tunisia, and Yemen. Earlier, the distribution rights were acquired by companies from Turkey, China, South Korea, and Mongolia.
The historical film is based on the first part of Ilyas Yesenberlin's "The Nomads" trilogy, "The Diamond Sword", and tells the story of the creation of the Kazakh khanate in the 15th century under the leadership of Kerey and Zhanibek sultans.
The projects were filmed by Kazakhfilm studio in co-production with the company Ceptaturus Rustem Abdrashev production, commissioned by the Ministry of Culture and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
