Starting from July 1, all passengers traveling from Kazakhstan to China will have to get two PCR tests 48 and 24 hours prior to their flight's departure time.

Twelve hours before entering the plane, passengers are required to get an additional antigen test. The three-test mandate is a requirement to obtain the country’s Health code or Health Declaration Form, according to the Embassy of the People's Republic of China

Before the PCR tests, people who wish to travel to China have to self-quarantine for 10 days in Kazakhstan and sign the Letter of Commitment on Home Quarantine. Afterwards, the two PCR tests taken 48 and 24 hours prior to boarding have to be done at two different labs approved by China's Embassy and General Consulate.

In order to obtain the “blue health code”, negative PCR-test results have to be uploaded on the website of the Department of Consular Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs together with other necessary documents.

The negative antigen test made 12 hours before the flight has to be shown to an airline employee alongside the “blue health code” via a special mobile app.

July 1 will also be the first day China’s Embassy and General Consulate stop accepting applications for a health code from passengers traveling on a transit flight from Kazakhstan to China through a third country.
